Rebec OTG-1 High Fidelity Audio Converter

Product Overview

The Rebec OTG-1 is a High Fidelity Audio Converter designed to connect smartphones and digital audio sources directly to a DSP processor or DSP amplifier through a digital SPDIF connection.

As modern mobile devices have become the primary music source for many users, the OTG-1 provides a convenient way to transfer digital audio from an iPhone, Android device, tablet, or computer into a car audio system while maintaining a fully digital signal path.

By converting USB audio signals into Optical or Coaxial SPDIF output, the OTG-1 allows the DSP processor to receive a digital audio stream directly from the source device for further processing.

Designed for Modern Digital Music Sources

Streaming platforms have become the preferred music source for many listeners. Services such as TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and other digital music applications provide access to extensive music libraries directly from a smartphone.

The OTG-1 is designed to bridge the connection between these modern music sources and a DSP-based car audio system.

Using the appropriate OTG connection cable, a smartphone can be connected directly to the OTG-1, which then outputs a digital audio signal through Optical or Coaxial SPDIF to the DSP processor.

This allows users to enjoy music directly from their preferred applications while maintaining a digital signal connection throughout the audio chain.

Key Features

• High Fidelity Audio Converter

• USB-C input

• USB-B input

• Optical SPDIF output

• Coaxial SPDIF output

• Supports DSD128 playback

• Supports USB audio up to 192kHz / 24bit

• Supports Optical and Coaxial output up to 192kHz / 24bit

• Frequency response: 20Hz–40kHz

• Signal-to-noise ratio >117dB

• Harmonic distortion <0.002%

• Compact aluminum chassis design

Digital Connectivity

The OTG-1 provides two digital input options:

• USB-C Input

• USB-B Input

The converter supports one input source at a time. According to the product documentation, both USB inputs should not be used simultaneously, as doing so may result in malfunction or possible damage.

For digital output, the OTG-1 provides:

• Optical Output

• Coaxial Output

These outputs allow compatibility with a wide range of DSP processors and DSP amplifiers equipped with SPDIF inputs.

Audio Performance

The OTG-1 is designed to support high-resolution digital audio playback.

The converter supports USB audio streams up to 192kHz / 24bit and DSD128 playback, allowing compatibility with many modern high-resolution music formats. Optical and Coaxial outputs also support digital transmission up to 192kHz / 24bit.

With a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 117dB and harmonic distortion below 0.002%, the OTG-1 is engineered to maintain signal integrity during digital audio conversion.

Its frequency response extends from 20Hz to 40kHz, supporting a wide audio bandwidth for modern high-resolution music playback.

System Integration

The OTG-1 is designed to work as part of a DSP-based car audio system.

According to the connection diagram, a smartphone or digital source device connects to the OTG-1 through USB. The OTG-1 then delivers a digital SPDIF signal through either the Optical or Coaxial output to the DSP processor. The DSP subsequently performs signal processing before passing audio to the amplifier stage.

This architecture makes the OTG-1 a practical solution for users who prefer smartphone-based music playback while utilizing the digital input capabilities of their DSP processor.

Product Positioning

Within the Rebec ecosystem, the OTG-1 serves as a dedicated digital audio interface between modern mobile devices and DSP-based audio systems.

Rather than functioning as a music player, DSP processor, or amplifier, the OTG-1 focuses on digital signal conversion and transmission. Its support for high-resolution audio formats, multiple digital outputs, and compatibility with smartphone-based playback platforms makes it an effective source interface for modern car audio installations.
