Rebec RE160 2-Channel Class AB Amplifier
Product Overview
The Rebec RE160 is a 2-channel Class AB amplifier designed for applications that require higher power output per channel while maintaining the characteristic sound signature of the RE Series. Combining a traditional Class AB amplifier architecture with low distortion and a wide frequency response, the RE160 is developed to deliver stable performance and musical reproduction across a variety of car audio systems.
With 135W RMS per channel at 4Ω and bridge capability up to 600W, the RE160 offers flexible installation possibilities for systems that require increased output from a compact two-channel amplifier.
Key Features
• Class AB amplifier design
• 135W × 2 RMS @ 4Ω
• 200W × 2 RMS @ 2Ω
• Up to 600W bridged output
• Frequency response from 10Hz to 45kHz
• Signal-to-noise ratio ≥105dB
• THD+N ≤0.01% (1kHz)
• Power transistor output stage
• Compact chassis design
Design and Engineering
The RE160 utilizes a Class AB amplifier circuit combined with a power transistor output stage. The amplifier is designed to provide stable power delivery and low distortion while maintaining signal accuracy across the audible frequency range.
A frequency response extending from 10Hz to 45kHz and a signal-to-noise ratio of at least 105dB support clean signal reproduction, while the low THD+N specification contributes to maintaining audio clarity throughout operation.
The amplifier accepts low-level input signals from 0.6V to 10V, allowing compatibility with a variety of source units and audio processors.
Sound Performance
The RE160 is characterized by a warm, mellow, and full-bodied sound signature while maintaining brightness and energy. Its presentation combines musical warmth with good detail and dynamics, creating a balanced listening experience across different music genres.
The amplifier retains the tonal character associated with the RE Series while providing increased output capability per channel through its dedicated two-channel design.
Product Positioning
Within the Rebec RE Series lineup, the RE160 is positioned as a higher-power two-channel amplifier. Compared with the RE100 and RE120, it provides fewer channels but greater output capability per channel, making it suitable for applications that require additional power while maintaining the characteristic sound quality of the RE Series.
