Rebec WL12 Passive Subwoofer
Product Overview
The Rebec WL12 is a 12-inch passive subwoofer from Rebec’s Hi-End Series, developed for car audio systems that require greater low-frequency extension, increased bass presence, and higher output capability. With a 350W RMS power rating, dual 4Ω voice coils, and a large motor structure, the WL12 is positioned as a higher-capacity solution within the Rebec subwoofer lineup.
Designed around Rebec’s philosophy of natural music reproduction, the WL12 combines low-frequency depth with stable and controlled bass performance.
Key Features
• 350W RMS power handling
• Dual 4Ω voice coil design
• 18mm Xmax for increased excursion capability
• Reverse low-pressure molded composite pulp cone
• Modified butyl rubber surround
• 75mm voice coil
• Large 180mm ferrite magnet structure
• Suitable for sealed and ported enclosure applications
• Recommended for use with high-power mono amplifiers
Material Characteristics
The WL12 utilizes a reverse low-pressure molded composite pulp cone designed to support stable cone movement and low-frequency reproduction. Combined with a modified butyl rubber surround, the driver is engineered to maintain control during high-excursion operation.
A 75mm voice coil and 180mm ferrite magnet assembly provide the motor strength and power handling required for demanding subwoofer applications.
Sound Performance
According to the Rebec product brochure, the WL12 is designed to deliver full low-frequency reproduction, solid bass strength, full timbre, and an open sound field.
Compared with the WL10, the WL12 is positioned as a larger-format solution that provides a stronger sense of low-frequency atmosphere and greater bass presence. Its larger cone area and lower resonant frequency support deeper low-frequency reproduction while maintaining integration with the rest of the audio system.
With a frequency response extending down to 18Hz, the WL12 is suitable for systems that require substantial low-frequency support across a wide range of music genres.
The WL12 can be paired with amplifiers such as the Rebec ES2S (bridged mode), D1200, A1200D, and A1800D to create a dedicated low-frequency system.
Design Philosophy
The WL12 was developed for enthusiasts seeking greater low-frequency extension and bass presence within Rebec’s Hi-End subwoofer range. By combining a large cone area, high-excursion capability, and increased power handling, the design aims to provide deeper bass reproduction while remaining consistent with Rebec’s focus on natural music reproduction.
